More about the project

The technical cooperation focused on supporting the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, municipalities responsible for waste management planning, and regional and local public and private companies involved in waste collection, transport, recycling, and final disposal.

Initially, a current state analysis was conducted, identifying potential weaknesses in the national waste management system, followed by capacity building and knowledge transfer through four interactive webinars. Capacity building focused on EU requirements and the transfer of knowledge in waste reduction, reuse, recycling, processing, energy recovery, and landfilling. The training sessions included raising awareness of the negative consequences of improper waste management, best industry practices, advanced urban policies, and recommendations for improving waste management planning.
