As part of the project, we conducted a detailed survey of the site of the former INCEL Banja Luka Cellulose Factory in Banja Luka. The goal was to determine the extent of PCB contamination at selected hotspots and assess the severity of the impact of this contamination on both the environment and human health.
Based on the results of the survey and data from previous studies, we performed a risk assessment for human health and the environment using the US EPA methodology. We then proposed preventive measures for short-term protection and long-term remediation actions, which were presented to the project stakeholders and government authorities.
