Project description

The new type of hybrid constructed wetland CW for 250 population equivalent was installed in the year 2011 in Kotenčice village in the Central Bohemia. The system consisted of 9 horizontal filters (911m2) and 4 vertical filters with intermittentfeeding (300m2). The filters are planted with Common Reed, Reed Canarygrass, Yellow Iris, Suberian Iris, Mannagras and Purple Loosestrife. The greenhouse with photo reactor for the cultivation of algae and hydroponic system, sludge reed-beds and a composting field present a tertiary treatment of the new technology system.
