Due to the detected leakage of the inner lining of the storage tank for hydrochloric acid, the stored acid, including residual acid in the interspace of the tank, was pumped out.
ubsequently, the interior of the tank was rinsed and decontaminated from residual acid. The decontamination was verified by swabbing the walls and floor of the tank. All work was carried out in chemical protective suits and breathing apparatus, with safety measures in place. This process ensured the safe removal of hydrochloric acid and decontamination of the tank, allowing for its further safe use.
