At the CTR Nelahozeves site, we carried out comprehensive cleaning of a large-scale oil storage tank for the client MERO ÄŚR, a.s. During the work, we pumped out the remaining oil sludge, removed solid residues, and performed degreasing of the internal surface of the tank, including the walls and roof. The work was carried out with a strong emphasis on safety and health protection while working in a hazardous environment.
The cleaning process of the large-scale oil tank involved several key phases, starting with the removal of remaining oil sludge, which was then transported to the company's own wastewater treatment plant. After removing the sludge, solid residues were eliminated from the tank using hot pressurized water. This prepared the tank for subsequent degreasing of the internal surfaces, including the walls and roof. The decontamination also included the floating roof of the tank and associated technology.
The work was carried out in an environment with an explosion risk, which required continuous monitoring of the explosiveness of the atmosphere. The project also involved activities at heights and in confined spaces, which were secured according to strict safety regulations. In addition to the technical aspects of the work, special attention was paid to the proper handling of hazardous waste, including the management of oil sludge.
