We conduct sample analyses, laboratory bioremediation tests, isolate suitable microbiological degraders, and monitor them in samples of remediated materials. Together with the research and development department, we develop and test technological solutions, primarily in the field of remediation. We manage everything from sample collection to verifying the efficiency of a given technology.

Sample collection

We have drilling rigs and other necessary equipment for various types of samples, which we collect directly from contaminated sites. We also process delivered samples when it is necessary to verify the effectiveness of a given technology.

Microbiological analyses

We focus on monitoring aerobic and anaerobic degradation processes, identifying, among other things, sulfate-reducing and strictly anaerobic bacteria, as well as microorganisms that degrade the targeted organic contaminants.

Testing technology efficiency

We simulate specific conditions at the site using a real sample and laboratory test to verify whether a particular technology works in the given case and whether it allows us to achieve the desired outcome, whether it's meeting a given legal limit or complying with regulations from authorities.

We verify and optimize remediation solutions

Laboratory testing of aerobic biodegradation

The technology is typically used for the removal of oil contamination and is based on the ability of specific bacteria to utilize unwanted organic substances as a source of carbon and energy, breaking them down into harmless products—carbon dioxide and water. The activity of the natural microflora in the environment and our BIOTECH biopreparation is usually monitored. The laboratory test is used to estimate the efficiency of biodegradation and the time required to reach the specified limit.

Laboratory tests supported by anaerobic bioremediation

This effective technology is suitable not only for the elimination of chlorinated contaminants and other substances such as pesticides or nitro compounds but also for the reduction and immobilization of heavy metals (e.g., hexavalent chromium, zinc). We assess the efficiency of this technology, recommend an appropriate organic substrate, and determine the optimal dosage for in-situ applications.

Laboratory test of chemical oxidation (ISCO)

A remediation technology based on the chemical transformation of hazardous pollutants into harmless or less dangerous compounds, which are stable, less mobile, or inert. We evaluate the effectiveness of the ISCO technology, recommend the appropriate oxidizing agent, and determine its consumption on a real contaminated sample.

Laboratory tests of chemical reduction (ISCR)

A remediation technology capable of removing both organic substances (especially chlorinated hydrocarbons) and inorganic contaminants in a high oxidation state from groundwater. Through reactions between contaminants and reductive agents, harmless products are formed. We assess the applicability and effectiveness of the ISCR technology.

Laboratory tests for solidification / hygienization / stabilization of waste

A method that reduces the leachability of harmful substances from contaminated materials into the environment or eliminates undesirable microorganisms through heat treatment. It transforms hazardous waste into non-hazardous waste and converts it into long-term mechanically or chemically stable materials. We assess the applicability and effectiveness of the technology in designing its practical applications.

Laboratory tests in the area of oil sludge

We will verify the proportion of individual sludge components and assess the possibilities for easily separating and utilizing them to reduce waste volume. The water can then be treated in a wastewater treatment plant, and the valuable oil can be used in production at refineries or in the chemical industry.

Laboratory tests of biodegradability

We test and quantify the percentage of a sample that can be biologically degraded. The test is conducted in soil under standardized conditions using natural soil microflora, and it verifies the biodegradability of crushed materials or products.

  • Water analysis

    We provide analyses of drinking water, pool water, and greywater. We also test the quality of water from constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment.

  • Ecotoxicological properties of samples

    We conduct ecotoxicological assessments of soils, wastes, and leachates using model organisms such as Lactuca sativa (lettuce), Sinapis alba (white mustard), and Lemna minor (duckweed).

  • Waste assessment

    We primarily determine the presence of undesirable microorganisms, such as Salmonella, or assess the respiratory activity of waste (AT4).
